| The Scholarship Program: Nara Scholarship Foundation hopes to dedicate a total of $100,000 each year, in the amount of $1,000 to eligible high school students. The candidates must demonstrate financial need, academic excellence, and strong leadership in the community. The scholarship funds will be disbursed directly to the college. |

Eligibility
- Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident.
- Applicant must graduate high school in the current school year.
- Applicant’s family income must not exceed the qualifying income limits as defined below. Priority is given to students demonstrating the greatest financial need based on income guidelines as noted below.
- Applicant must plan to attend, as a full-time student, an accredited junior college or four-year college in the Fall 2008 or Spring 2009.
- Applicant must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Applicant must be a resident of a community served by Nara Bank. Within the State of California this includes the counties of: Los Angeles, Orange, Alameda, and Santa Clara. Within the State of New York this includes the counties of: Queens, Bronx, Kings, and New York. Within the State of New Jersey this includes Bergen County only.
- All scholarship recipients are required to attend Nara Bank’s 2-hour financial literacy skills course.
- Minimum score for SAT I must be at least 1500 combined.
Note: Employees and the families of Nara Bank, Nara Bancorp, Inc. and affiliated companies are not eligible to receive scholarships for the Nara Scholarship Foundation.
